This summer's French cinema selection is Indochine, a 1992 epic film that gives us a twist of a "Gone with the Wind" reflection on the last decades of the French colonial period in Vietnam. French leading lady Catherine Deneuve stars as Eliane Devries, a spirited and rebellious plantation mistress trying to find love and keep her family together during the dying days of the empire. We will split this saga into two viewing segments with light snacks the first night and dinner the second night as we discuss the film and its rich background.
