The average rainfall for the Casper area has been 12.5 inches: one-third of the rain that most other areas from Seattle to Austin get in the same period. With the increase in moisture and lower spring temperatures, there are new challenges such as battles with fungus and suppressed pollinators. We will look at water on the planet, the Great Inland Sea that created our soils, sources of water for gardens, containment and distribution methods, and maintaining moisture in permaculture gardens. There will be a lunch break. Either bring your lunch or you will have time to go off campus to get lunch. Computer skills are beneficial to access class resources available online.
