CourseGraphic Nature’s age-old methods of improving the soil have evolved over long periods. We will learn how soil improvement occurs in nature and how to replicate it in a shorter length of time. We will discuss how to determine soil composition using pH testing and particle observation, how to prepare the ground for improvement, how some weeds are actually pioneers, and how supporting wild birds and raising ducks, geese, chickens, or game birds is important to soil and other landscape elements. Computer skills are not necessary for this class, but are beneficial to access online class resources.
