Join Kate Davis, Ph.D., religious studies scholar and oral historian specializing in North American religions, for an examination of America’s long history of new and alternative religious movements. Explore the beliefs, practices, and cultural impact of groups often labeled as “cults” while considering both insider and outsider perspectives. Discover why some movements gained acceptance, others disappeared, and some became associated with controversy or tragedy. Osher Online is the facilitator of this exclusive Zoom course.
