This advanced course provides an in-depth study of governmental accounting principles, building upon foundational accounting knowledge. Topics include fund accounting, capital assets and long-term debt, fiduciary activities, grants management, internal controls, enterprise and special revenue funds, budgeting and compliance requirements. The course will also address emerging issues in governmental finance, transparency, and fiscal accountability. Through financial statement analysis, and practical exercises, participants will develop the skills necessary to interpret governmental financial data, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and support sound financial decision-making within public sector organizations.
