Explore this dark period in American history. Witch trials and executions raged in Europe for centuries before occurring in America’s Puritan communities. The Salem Witch Trials, although not the first American witch trials, are the most famous. Learn about the afflicted, accused, accusers, and trial judges. We will discuss the cultural climate of Salem, Massachusetts, in 1692, which allowed so many to suffer and die under suspicion of being a witch.
