Take a stroll through the world of material culture and learn how to glean the social and historical significance of an object. We will examine common objects and try to fit them into the world from which they originated. Firearms to flatware, clothing to kitchen gadgets, we will apply our knowledge and available historical information to seek out the purpose of doodads, gizmos, and thingamajigs.
