All miners must have a minimum of eight hours of annual refresher training – MSHA 30 CFR 48.28. Topics include mandatory health and safety standards; transportation controls and communication systems; escape and emergency evacuation plans; fire warning and firefighting; ground control; working in areas of high walls, water hazards, pits, and spoil banks; illumination and night work; first aid; electrical hazards; accident prevention; health; explosives; self-rescue; and respiratory devices. You must take the annual refresher during or before your expiration month.

The 40-hour community interpreter certificate program is the first step toward developing professional skills as an interpreter, including eight core-interpreting principles, resolving ethical challenges, application of reflective practice, protocols, skill building strategies, bias awareness, effective legal interpreting, and ethics and standards best practices. Participants will learn how to assess situations and become aware of errors that could ultimately and seriously affect the outcome of an encounter. Participants will be contacted upon registration to schedule the language pretest. The Wyoming Department of Health Office of Health Equity is offering $300 tuition reimbursement scholarships. Join three field science and integrated curriculum experts to learn how to develop standards-based experiential learning opportunities for students using your own backyards. Create field trip lesson plans using botany, entomology, geology, and GIS mapping skills in school playgrounds and city parks. Gain the skills to integrate science standards with language arts, creating engaged K-6 students. One PTSB credit is included with your registration; one UW graduate credit is available for an additional $50 fee. Dress to spend the day outside in varying weather conditions. Effective photography skills help real estate agents showcase their properties by highlighting desirable aspects, which drives interest from prospective buyers. Participants will learn about camera features, proper exposure of prints, composition, and lighting techniques and then travel to a residence for a photo shoot. The class will be a review and critique of the photos from the shoot and participants will refine their skills. Bring a digital camera to class.
