ClassGraphic Discover the essentials of safe, enjoyable backcountry travel while experiencing the beauty of Wyoming’s wilderness firsthand. Learn the basics of trip planning, gear and food selection, responsible nature stewardship, and backcountry safety. Begin with two engaging lectures, then apply your skills on a guided overnight backpacking trip into Curtis Gulch in La Bonte Canyon. This trip is physically challenging due to uneven terrain and the lack of restroom facilities. Wear clothing and footwear suitable for backpacking. Participants provide their own gear and food. This class is ideal for beginners or anyone looking to refresh their skills. Driving your own vehicle is not permitted. Complete travel paperwork by Sunday, June 14.
