ClassGraphic Deciding to travel west in pursuit of a better life was not easy in the 1800s. Pioneers faced numerous challenges, including lack of water, food, diseases, accidents, Indigenous peoples, and more. Discuss the reasons emigrants chose to embark on a perilous westward journey. Simulate the westward trip using a game format and discover how not being properly prepared could prove deadly for the wagon trains.
