8-Hour MSHA Annual Refresher

All miners must have a minimum of eight hours of annual refresher training — MSHA 30 CFR 48.28. Topics include mandatory health and safety standards; transportation controls and communication systems; escape and emergency evacuation plans; fire warning and firefighting; ground control; working in areas of high walls, water hazards, pits, and spoil banks; illumination and night work; first aid; electrical hazards; accident prevention; health; explosives; self-rescue; and respiratory devices. You must take the annual refresher during or before your expiration month.
