ClassGraphic Why is the world the way it is? More specifically, why did technology and commerce in the West leapfrog ahead of other cultures that had earlier starts? Jared Diamond’s book “Guns, Germs, and Steel” found some intriguing, plausible answers. Inspired by Diamond’s work, this class explores major aspects of global history to highlight the impacts weapons, disease, and religion have had in getting us all to where we are today.
