ClassGraphic Victim advocates may work in domestic violence shelters, crisis centers, crisis hotlines, or with state and county governments helping crime victims progress through the criminal justice system towards recovery. They provide invaluable legal services, including advocating for victims’ rights and guardianship, reviewing related legislation, crisis intervention, and counseling victims of assault, battery, robbery, domestic violence, child abuse, and other crimes. Participants who successfully complete this course are eligible for the National Advocacy Credentialing Program’s provisional credential in affiliation with the National Organization for Victim Assistance.
