Activities professionals provide elderly and disabled clients opportunities to pursue social, mental, creative, and recreational activities. They work in long-term care, nursing, boarding, or retirement homes. Students will acquire skills to meet the federal Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1987 standards, the Wyoming State Health Department’s qualifications to manage an activity program, and the Modular Education Program for Activity Professionals Part I, which is applicable for the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals curriculum and guidelines. The program includes 90 hours of online instruction and 90 hours of practicum, which covers the MEPAP 1. This online, self-paced class must be completed six months from the registration date. Contact the instructor, Debbie Hommel, at firstname.lastname@example.org for registration information.
