Take advantage of the unique opportunity to see Fremont Canyon in a pontoon boat. Join an expert to learn the basic geological ages of Wyoming through the 3-billion-year-old rocks found in the canyon. Meet in the classroom to gain a better understanding and appreciation of Wyoming’s landscape and geological history. The group splits in two for half-day visits to Alcova. Bring a field notebook, water, hat, and sunglasses for the field trip. Be prepared for outdoor weather and limited shade. Vans depart from the Myra Fox Skelton Energy Institute at 9 a.m. and noon. If you plan to drive your own vehicle, you must provide the required documentation before the class.
