ClassGraphic Learn to plan a safe and enjoyable hike. Navigate confidently in the backcountry with a map, compass, GPS, or your intuition. Discover how to find your way and avoid getting lost. Read topographical maps and explore helpful apps that enhance your hiking experience. Cover first-aid essentials and how to pack a first-aid kit. Practice your knowledge on location during the second class. Be prepared to hike on uneven surfaces. Wear clothing and shoes suitable for walking. Bring a sack lunch, water, and hiking equipment. The instructor will email the supply list and the second class meeting location before the first class. The hiking location will vary based on weather conditions.
