« back to classes page
Written by Patanjali around the second century, the yamas help bring us into right relationship with others and ourselves. Each class includes a short discussion and integrated yoga practice in support of the five yamas: ahimsa (nonviolence), satya (truthfulness), asteya (nonstealing), brahmacharya (moderation), and aparigraha (nonhoarding). The yoga practice may include chanting, pranayama (breath control), and meditation. Wear comfortable clothes and bring a yoga mat to class.
