That fateful day in July 1865 that began the Plains Indian Wars forever marked the Wyoming landscape. We will review information about the battle, seek out the locations of skirmishes, and overlook the landscape of the battle from key vantage points. Appreciate what the Battle of Platte Bridge Station participants were thinking and how their decisions affected the outcome of the battle. We will honor both sides in our understanding of this powerful historic battle. After a lecture at the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center, we will depart in vans to visit historic sights. Bring a sack lunch, water, snacks, and wear comfortable clothing and shoes for walking.
