KEY Camp Info
KEY Camp was canceled in 2020 due to the coronavirus. We were disappointed that we had to make this decision because we know how important KEY is to all the kids who attend--and we like seeing them have a great time and grow in confidence and knowledge.
We have put together a fabulous day camp to help fill the void.
Dirt to Dinner
Cultivate a love of plants with this hands-on camp for middle school students that explores the journey of produce from seed to plate. Visit a community garden and learn about planting, caring for, and harvesting fruits and vegetables. Then take a foraging walk and learn how to identify, gather, and use native edible plants. Campers will build a plant press, preserve plants, conduct experiments with seaweed, and create works of art inspired by nature. Do not miss this opportunity to roll up your sleeves and dig into summer. Bring a sack lunch, water, and snacks each day. Wear comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, a hat, and work gloves.
The camp instructor, Leah Hays, brings her love of gardening and cooking together to teach classes about gardening, foraging, and cooking. We are so excited to have Leah share her knowledge and enthusiasm.
